Pegasus City Brewery

Tonight we got the opportunity to visit one of Dallas' newest breweries - Pegasus City Brewery .

They have been open for a little over a week and offer up a Tiny Taproom for visitors to taste their beer. They have pretty limited space, so they control visits with pre-booked reservations. For $20 you get to taste three of their beers and have 2 full pints.

They currently have three beers on tap, but should be adding a few more very soon. They claim to create very approachable, easy to drink beers that one would expect to drink on the back porch. After tasting what they have available, we tend to agree - they are very approachable and very easy to drink.

HightPoint

We started with HighPoint, a English mild that would be fitting on any back porch. It was easy drinking and reminded us a nice summer day.

Cannonball

Cannonball came next and was a nice amber red. When we looked for words describe this one we came up with easy drinking, light, amber. It is definitely one we can see ourselves going back to again and again.

Sixth Floor

We finished our tasting with Sixth Floor. It was a very pleasant and easy to drink Porter. For us this one was interesting! Between the two of us we have one Porter lover and one that enjoys them on occasion. To our delight we both enjoyed this one. It has the best of both aspects - great characteristics of a porter, but approachability for someone who is on the fence on the style.

One of the overall perks of visiting a new brewery is that very often you get to meet the people who are making it all happen! There is nothing better than getting to hear directly from the source about the passion that got them started and where they hope to be in a few years! Chris, Adrian and Will are all a pleasure to talk to and we look forward to more visits! They have a love for great beer and some great ideas on how to make craft beer approachable to all taste pallets. I imagine we will continue to see great things come from their craft!
