The Common Table - Pour Mans Dinner

Tonight we have one of those rare "responsibility free" weeknights. We took full advantage of our freedom and used it as an opportunity to visit The Common Table and check out the beer dinners they host on Monday nights.

We arrived around 6pm. The restaurant was pretty easy to find, had a great vibe and offered complimentary valet.

We were seated immediately and given the weekly menu.

Our first course was a Kefta (middle eastern spiced meatball) served with a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Those that know me, know I am not a fan of IPAs- this one however paired surprisingly well. Not only was the pairing great - but the meatballs were a bit of perfection! We are off to a great start!

Our second course was a cup of Hariri (North African lamb and chickpea stew). On a slightly cool night this was much needed! The spices were a wonderful flavor profile and it paired well with a Community Public Ale.

Our third course might have been the best of all! We were served Moroccan Lamb Kebobs with couscous. The pairing was delightful and the flavors blended so nicely!

Our final course was a Makroud (Algerian almond cookie) paired with a Manedsous 8. Corey was most excited about this course because one of his favorite beers was served. This course, like the other didn't disappoint at all!

Overall we highly recommend this experience! We got to talk to Phillip, the new AGM and he hinted to some great experiences coming soon - really focusing on beers around the world. If you have a free Monday night you really need to check this place out - I promise you won't have any regrets!
